R.I.P. Sylvia Robinson

Sylvia Robinson, “The Mother Of Hip-Hop,” passed away earlier today at the age of 75. Though she got started in the singing duo Mickey and Sylvia and eventually notched a hit, “Pillow Talk,” she’s most famous for producing pioneering rap singles “The Message” (Grandmaster Flash And The Furious Five) and “Rapper’s Delight” (Sugar Hill Gang) during her career at Sugar Hill Records. R.I.P.
